Sunny and breezy.
Temp: Hi 66˚ Low 38˚
Wind: SW 13-38 mph
The damiki/swimbait/jighead minnow is still working. Look for fish to be in the front half of creeks particularly the larger creeks. Also check the larger pocket in these creeks. The most catchable fish are in 10’-30’ in the water column, suspended over 60’-100’ of water. Schools of bait fish do not have to be present, but it does help keep the fish more active. The key to the bigger bite is to have gizzard shad present. Plan on looking at FFS to locate fish all day long. The biggest factor in continuing to catch fish is to keep moving all day to keep finding active fish. This bite is best early in the morning and can be over by noon. Move quickly and make accurate casts.
Saturday March 22, 2025
Clouds and sun.
Temp: Hi 70˚ Low 55˚
Wind: SE 7-22 mph
There is a jig bite, but it is very specific and plan on moving to many spots in a day. Hit the main lake channel swings and bluff ends. Fish slow in the right areas. If there is brush around all the better. The fish will be 10’-25’ deep. Fish slow and there is not much of a bite it just feels heavy. If you get one bite on a spot it is likely you can get another fish to do the same. The Jewel AJ in a brown/purple flash seems to be working best right now.
Sunday March 23, 2025
Rain in the morning otherwise its mostly cloudy.
Temp: Hi 65˚ Low 38˚
Wind: WNW 12-28 mph
The A-rig bite is the best bite is the best way to catch fish right now. Secondary points and channel swings seem to be the best places to get bites. Also fish the side of the points. It seems with the water being pulled the fish are positioning on the sides of these points. The fish are 5’-25’ deep and they like to be around timber or brush piles. Plan on doing a lot of moving around and spot hoping. If you don’t like to move many times throughout the day, focus on points with gravel and fish around them it’s a bit random but you can find bites this way. Using shad-colored baits is better on the outer rigs and a larger shad swimbait for the middle bait in a slightly darker color with a chartreuse tail is better on the center rig.
