Weather Conditions
Friday April 25, 2025

A couple of morning showers otherwise cloudy.
Temp: Hi 76˚ Low 57˚
Wind: WNW 7-17 mph
There is a chatterbait/spinnerbait bite in the river arms and finding stained water is important. Wood cover is critical for the better-quality fish and more bites. With the water up in the bushes look for willow trees and hardwood cover. Cover as much water as possible, this is a very fun way to fish right now. It seems a 1/2oz bait is the best size and use a white/chartreuse or a white skirt with your favorite trailers.

Saturday April 26, 2025

Mainly cloudy.
Temp: Hi 69˚ Low 54˚
Wind: E 7-16 mph
Use a Texas rigged creature bait that is bulky and compact. Fish around the brush by casting it to the bank and fish the bait out to 10’ of water. Use a 1/4oz or 3/8oz weight with the bait of your choice in a green pumpkin or watermelon with chartreuse on the tips. Do not be afraid of the a little stain in the water or bushes. Put on heavy line and cover water.

Sunday April 27, 2025

Heavy cloud cover.
Temp: Hi 73˚ Low 61˚
Wind: SE 8-21 mph
The glide bait is still going but the magdraft is starting to come on as well. Fish these baits on the edge of the brush or alongside boat docks. These are fish that are staging just before they go in to spawn. Key on docks that are near gravel pockets. Having wind blowing directly into these areas is always better. Sunny days really will position the fish where an overcast day they could be anywhere. Use a slow and steady retrieve. The fish are in 0’-5’ of water. Use a shad-colored bait from 6”-10” in size.
