Weather Conditions
Friday May 23, 2025

Mostly cloudy.
Temp: Hi 71˚ Low 55˚
Wind: E 7-16 mph
The shad spawn is in full swing. This is a very short-lived deal each morning and it won’t last much longer. Get your bites before the sun gets over the mountain. Focus on main lake and secondary points that have hard cover on them. That can be docks, timber and bushes. Look for surface activity. The best bait has been spinnerbaits. It seems anything with white or white and chartreuse is working the best. This is a very fun way to catch fish early in the day. The more clouds and overcast the day is the longer this bite will last.

Saturday May 24, 2025

Periods of rain, some heavy.
Temp: Hi 67˚ Low 57˚
Wind: SE 9-14 mph
The bream have started to spawn and that is helping with another shallow bite around the lake. Look for ledge rock banks with gravel mixed in creeks and pockets. The fish are 4’-8’ deep and you can use a variety of soft plastic baits.  Brush hog, Senko style bait in green pumpkin. As the water rises into the bushes you can also throw a chatterbait in this areas, use that in a green pumpkin color as well. Add a little chartreuse on the tails.

Sunday May 25, 2025

Cloudy and cool with a couple of thunderstorms.
Temp: Hi 66˚ Low 55˚
Wind: SE 8-22 mph
There is still a glide bait bite that seems to be getting better. This is somewhat specific. Focus on main lake transition banks that have ledge rock and gravel mixed. These fish are shallow they are 4’-8’ deep. Wind is a big factor and can really help this bite. The more wind the better and how directly it hits the bank. Use bone and moss-colored baits. Keep the bait moving and keep looking for new spots all day.
