The fish that are in the bushes and trees that are in the water are very catchable right now. Focus on the old bank line and fish spinnerbaits and chatterbaits through and around the bushes. It seems anything with white or white and chartreuse is working the best. This is a very fun way to catch fish. The more sun the more it positions the fish to the cover. Plan on covering lots of water and areas with some slight stain seem to make the fish more willing to bite.
Saturday May 31, 2025
Mostly sunny.
Temp: Hi 77˚ Low 58˚
Wind: WNW 8-15 mph
There is a flipping bite in the river arms. Each day we get closer to stabilizing the better it will be. Look for isolated trees and bushes in steeper banks. Use a brushhog or beaver style baits to get through the bushes. The water gets clearer the farther up the river arms you go. There is heavy debris fields in the river arms, be cautious.
Sunday June 1, 2025
Cloudy in the morning then sunshine.
Temp: Hi 80˚ Low 59˚
Wind: W 7-10 mph
There is a football jig bite happening but it is best when water is being pulled or go far up the White river where water from the Beaver dam in coming in. These fish are less than 20’ and really seem to be around 10’ and the old bank line. Use a Jewel Pee Wee football jig in PB&J or Hail Mary. Use a trailer that will keep it compact and add some chartreuse to the tips.
