The best and most consistent bite on the lake is fishing the old bank line. When water is being run the fish are positioned on points and secondary points. They are not very far on either side of the point the water being pulled has them positioned on the point. The points that are more gravel with mixed rock seem to be best. You can use a Jewel football jig, or a shakey head with a bulkier plastic worm. Point hop all day long and don’t let the boat get shallower than 13’-14’ of water.
Saturday June 7, 2025
Considerable cloudiness with a couple of showers and thunderstorms.
Temp: Hi 79˚ Low 63˚
Wind: WSW 7-21 mph
In the farthest places you can reach in the river arms there is a flipping bite. This is a super shallow deal and it takes a lot of casts to get the bite but it is there. Go as far as possible until the water begins to clear and look for steeper banks with isolated wood cover, bushes and trees. Use a bulky style beaver type bait with heavy line. Really have to go as far as possible in a boat.
Sunday June 8, 2025
Partly sunny and humid.
Temp: Hi 83˚ Low 64˚
Wind: NW 8-12mph
There is a spoon dock bite starting to happen. This is a good option if water isn’t pulled, and the sun is out. Fish larger community docks especially those near points that are in 30’-60’ of water. The fish are not that deep and tend to be in the middle sections of the dock. This can change from day-to-day so it takes a little while of hunting around to find them. Once you do you can usually catch a couple of fish on a dock then its time to move. Use a white spoon.
