Weather Conditions
Friday August 8, 2025

Very warm plenty of sunshine.
Temp: Hi 96˚ Low 71˚
Wind: S 7-18 mph
The deep summertime bite is the best on the lake, but it can be tough at times. The fish are consistently in 20’-30’ of water. These fish are on the gravel main lake points near the bottom. The fish are in the 20’-30’ zone because the thermocline is beginning to form around the lake. Use a 4” plum worm on a drop shot rig or a white slab spoon. These fish will be in small groups so key on fish that are more aggressive and continue to look for new fish throughout the day.

Saturday August 9, 2025

Very warm plenty of sunshine.
Temp: Hi 95˚ Low 72˚
Wind: S 7-18 mph
The deep tree bite is starting to improve now that the water has slowed through the dam. Look for main lake bluff ends with deep timber. The trees can be in 50’-80’ of water but top out at around 20’-30’ deep. A slab spoon and flutter spoon have been working best. The slab spoon falls faster and seems to work better when the fish are more aggressive, but really this is a day-to-day situation on which bait they prefer.

Sunday August 10, 2025

Mostly sunny.
Temp: Hi 92˚ Low 68˚
Wind: S 6-18 mph
There is still a river bite, but it can be day-to-day or even when water is being pulled or not. Fishing deep brush piles especially those on points are places to start. There are not a lot of bites doing this, but the quality of the fish is much better. You can pull up to one point or brush pile and catch a limit that will weigh 20 pounds and then go to three more places and have zero bites. Target the brush piles in 15’-25’ of water and use a 10” ribbon tail worm.
