Mostly sunny and very warm.
Temp: Hi 96˚ Low 72˚
Wind: S 6-14 mph
The deep summertime bite is the best on the lake. It is predicated on the thermocline. The fish are consistently in 20’-30’ of water. These fish are on the gravel main lake points near the bottom and at the ends of docks along the dock cables. The fish are in the 20’-30’ zone because of the thermocline. Use a 4” plum worm on a drop shot rig. These fish will be in small groups so key on fish that are more aggressive and continue to look for new fish throughout the day.

Saturday August 16, 2025

Partly sunny and very warm.
Temp: Hi 94˚ Low 72˚
Wind: SW 6-15 mph
The deep tree bite is starting to improve now that the lake elevation is settled. Look for main lake bluff ends or main lake points near the river roll off with deep timber. The trees can be in 50’-80’ of water but top out at around 20’-30’ deep. These fish will be in small groups and can be aggressive at times, usually in the morning. A small slab spoon in white seems to work the best. The slab spoon falls faster and seems to work better when the fish are more aggressive. Just keep moving to different spots to keep finding more fish. The mood of the fish is really a day-to-day situation, so just keep covering water.

Sunday August 17, 2025

Mostly sunny and very warm.
Temp: Hi 97˚ Low 71˚
Wind: S 2-8 mph
The Plopper bite is just starting to happen. Key on rounded secondary points in larger creeks that have some larger isolated rock or cover miles of water on 45˚ banks. The bluegill spawn is why these fish are eating the plopper. This can be a hunt and peck deal until you get a bite and don’t plan on getting a ton of bites but the quality should be pretty good. Use braid and black plopper style bait.
