The football jig bite has improved with this steady consistent pull of water. Target main lake and secondary points, throughout the lake using a Jewel pee wee football jig. There are fish to be caught from 5’-35’ of water. The bigger fish seem to be out deeper. The better numbers are shallower. These fish on points that mostly gravel with some larger or mixed rock mixed in. Use a 5/16oz Pee Wee football jig in Hail Mary or PB&J. Keep the bait as compact as possible. Plan on fishing a lot of points during the day to get the bites. Some days the fish like the bait scrubbed on the bottom. FFS will show when there are aggressive fish in an area.

Temp: Hi 81˚ Low 56˚
Wind: SW 6-10 mph
Look for wood cover in the back of creeks. They do not have to be large, but they need to have shad in them. Fish are on brushpile or laydowns in the backs of these creeks. Throw a buzzbait or a spinnerbait to get these fish to bite. The buzzbait will work all day and should be thrown at the cover first. Don’t spend too much time in any one spot keep moving to new locations to keep getting bites. A black buzzbait and a white spinnerbait.

Sunday October 12, 2025

Sunshine and warm.
Temp: Hi 82˚ Low 59˚
Wind: S 7-20 mph
There is a glide-bait bite that is still solid. These fish are around wood cover. It can be laydowns or standing timber. It does seem the standing timber is better. Key on the first half creeks and focus on channel swing banks that have timber. Most of the fish come from the tops of the standing timber and are in 5’ or water or less. Use shad-looking glide baits and keep the bait moving. This bite also happens on main lake and secondary points. Plan to fish in a lot of locations to get these bites. Just keep moving and finding new fish.
