Weather Conditions
Friday October 24, 2025

Cooler with periods of rain.
Temp: Hi 52˚ Low 47˚
Wind: ESE 8-22 mph
Even with little generation the football jig bite seems to still be good all over the lake. Target main lake and secondary points, one with brush piles and standing timber seem to be better. Use a Jewel 1/2oz or 5/8oz pee wee football jig. The fish are in a wide range of water depth and can be from 5’-35’ of water, but 15’-20’ seems to be the key depth. PB&J and Green Pumpkin Orange seem to be working the best. Keep the bait as compact as possible. Plan on fishing a lot of points during the day to get the bites.

Saturday October 25, 2025

Cool with periods of rain.
Temp: Hi 53˚ Low 50˚
Wind: ESE 7-18 mph
The Rock Crawler bite continues to improve as the water continues to cool. Focus on channel swing banks in the creeks. The more wind the better. The bite seems better when the wind is hitting the bank directly, but having wind really helps this bite. The wind is the biggest factor in getting these fish to bite. The best colors seem to be Red Craw and Phantom Brown. This bite is really fun right now.

Sunday October 26, 2025

Cloudy with a little rain.
Temp: Hi 55˚ Low 50˚
Wind: SE 6-16 mph
The deep shad bite is just starting to show up. Look for schools of bait fish in the mouth of larger creek arms. The shad are not very far in the creek, don’t go too far in the creek looking. When you find the shad, you will find the fish actively around them. Using a little bit bigger shad bait has been important. Use a 3”-4” size bait on a 1/2oz sized head. These fish are still moving fast. Plan on being in search mode until you locate the shad.
