Mostly sunny

Dig out a shallow crankbait and cover some water. Pick a river arm and fish halfway to three quarters of the way back. If you find areas with shad all the better. Make longer casts in the clear water and keep the bait moving quickly. If you find wood cover fish it thoroughly and keep looking for new water. It is the fall and somewhat hit or miss one creek can be good the other not as good.

Temp: Hi 59˚ Low 42˚
Wind: NW 8-16 mph
The football jig and Carolina rig bite is happening is still strong. This bite is better when they are running water, but that widow is small each day. The fish can be shallower early in the day, but the key depth is 25’ of water. Keep the bait on the bottom but don’t be worried about hopping it occasionally. Key on the long gravel points all over the lake those that are in 25’ at the roll off tend hold more fish. The Jewel Pee Wee HD football jig and be sure to add some orange to the trailer.
Sunday October 7, 2023
Plenty of sunshine
Temp: Hi 68˚ Low 47˚
Wind: WSW 6-17 mph
There is a good shallow bite, but it is very specific. The fish are the areas of the creek that have shad they have not been too far back but with the water coming into the lake this could make things better. Use a black Buzzbait and look for creeks with flatter banks. If there is wood cover all the better to get bites but fish the wood with multiple casts. This is bite that is lasting all day but do not expect tons of bites.
