5/23/20 Memorial day club tourney- Midlake Shell Knob

05/25/2020

My partner and I fished an open club tourney on memorial weekend, tournament consisted of 11 boats.  Our fish were caught in the Campbell point area fishing pea gravel points.  We started off with top waters but just got little ones.  Our first keeper was caught on pee wee jig in about 12' water.  The second keeper, was caught on senko on outside of a point.  Number three, four, and five were smallmouth caught on kietech 2.8 pro blue.  Basically running the swimbait on the bottom with occasional hesitation. We ended the tournament in 1st place with 5 fish at 10 lbs 6 ounces.  Our stringer was the only limit caught.  Four other boats weighed in with 2 to 3 fish.   Notes: 1.  Watch out for floaters 2.  Late afternoon we had rough ride due to all the wake boats. 3.  Weigh in your fish even though you have a light stringer. =$$$
