Fished the AIA this past weekend. Prefished Saturday up the White River from the mouth of the James to the mouth of the Kings River. Fished almost exclusively main lake and secondary points. Caught multiple fish almost everywhere we fished and saw small schools of fish on most spots. Caught five keepers that possibly would have went 12+ but nothing with much size. We couldn't come up with a pattern other than we could get bit on points with a multitude of baits. Tried channel swing banks, but just couldn't get bit and didn't really see many fish in those areas.

Tournament day ran same areas and had a small limit by 9:30 all on topwater and swimbait. Lots of 14-1/2" fish. We just couldn't get bigger fish to bite. During the morning saw multiple larger fish busting shad jumping out of the water, but we could not entice to bite. Rode the struggle bus the rest of the day sorting through shorts.  Hooked up a 4+ pound smallie on a carolina rig around 2pm. Partner went to net her,  she made a dive at the boat and leader line snapped. That hurt as that would have been my PB Smallie by at least two pounds and cast us probably at least 25 positions in points. Oh well that's fishing. Finished with a mere  5 for 8.82.
