RkCrawlers and Jerkbaits

02/21/2022

Fished from Cedar Hallow to the Back of Indian Creek. Wanted to stay away from the brush piles. Decided to find my own bite but it didn’t pan out, only boating 2 keepers in 9 hours. 1st Keeper was 2lbs, caught on a Green Craw RkCrawler 55, steep rock/gravel mix bank in the very back of a small creek arm off Indian creek. Less than 5ft of water around 10am. Calm water, not windy in that arm which was weird. Cranked similar structure (both windy and calm) for 2 hours in same areas with no more bites. Switched to an Alabama Rig on multiple main lake bluff walls (point 17 area) Pulled 3 short spotted bass in 3 hours. Did lose a giant on the rig using targeting sonar that was suspended over the main river channel. (I hate the 3 hook rule, but oh well) Ran to a bluff wall where the wind hit harder outside of Baxter and switched to a Deep Diving Jerkbait in ProBlue color. Pulled a 3lb keeper in the first 10 minutes of throwing. No more bites or follows the remainder of the day. Tried Jigs on docks, spinnerbaits in stained backs of creeks, KGB Glidebait around docks, and single keitech 2.8 (too windy) to no avail.
